Brooms for Sale

So, there’s actually a Bourda Market song. My guess is the song was a commercial jingle. I sang it to my cousins. I met them for the first time today. My cousins asked “When did you leave Guyana?” I was born abroad. Funny how immigrant kids always have a little bit of “home” injected in them. It’s like a beacon. More about the history of Bourda Market “The ward of Bourda was once an estate, within the Plantation of Vlissingen, owned by Dutch Joseph Bourda. The plantation was recognized by the Vlissengen Commissioners who were appointed by the Government to analyze the claims made by many persons, alleged to be the successors of Joseph Bourda, in 1876.”
